GUS KENWORTHY
Continuing the “Shoulders of Greatness” campaign, Head & Shoulders signed Gus Kenworthy, the first openly gay action sports athlete. Gus was set to compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics, so we were tasked with creating a print ad, social content and a TV spot that would air during the Olympics. But we weren’t given much of a budget. Using existing footage and a few thought out studio shots, we ended up making history.
It’s the first National TV spot to show the pride flag.

Odell Beckham Jr., the original Shoulders of Greatness spokesperson, began to face more and more criticism and name calling as he became increasingly famous… resulting in a lot more weight to carry on his shoulders.
